Toy Story 4? Why?

During a recent interview, Tom Hanks announced that Pixar Animation Studios is in plans to make another Toy Story film. This isn’t a complete surprise considering how commercially successful the last film was. Toy Story 3 grossed over $600 million worldwide and is currently one of the highest-grossing films of all-time.

Now, I like most people loved Toy Story 3 and thought that it was a perfect conclusion to the franchise. And even though I have faith in Pixar, I think that we can all agree that this is a bad idea.

What could they possibly do with the story at this point? Toy Story won’t be the same without Andy. I’m sure that they could come up with something. And it might even be good. But is it really necessary?  Besides, how can they possibly top the last one?

To me this just seems like a cash grab. The last movie made a lot of money, and if this one gets made, it most likely will too.

This news isn’t official yet. The studio hasn’t made an announcement. So it might not be true. We could find out tomorrow that it was just a rumor or a misunderstanding or something. But if it is true, I think it’s a huge mistake.

I agree why make another. The last had a tug at your heart ending that brought the story full circle. It was also the most adult themed of the lot. Whats next? A Barbie and Ken spinoff? Better not be.
